The Certified Pool Operator Certification (or CPO Certification) is a training program that provides with you everything you need to know to safely operate and manage a swimming facility. In fact, many states and provinces require that all public or semi-public aquatic facilities have a CPO Certified operator on site at all times in order to make sure that all codes, regulations, and safety standard are being met.
There are multiple ways for someone to get their CPO Certification! You can get it online or by taking an in-person class and Pool Training Academy makes either path a breeze!
PLEASE NOTE: There are other ways to get your CPO Certification like a 2-day virtual Zoom class or a hybrid between online and in-person classes as well. CPO Certification is legally required in 24 states as well as the District of Columbia currently, but the list of states is constantly growing! It’s important to remember that even though your state may not require CPO Certification, it’s still highly recommended to have a CPO certified operator at your facility to greatly reduce the risk of injury, death, or legal action resulting from a lack of operational knowledge.
