Does California Require CPO Certification?
The state of California does not necessarily require that all commercial pools and aquatic facilities have a CPO certified operator onsite or a CPO certified pool service technician who oversees the management of the facility to ensure all codes, regulations, and safety protocols are being monitored and adhered to.
It is important to note that it is highly recommended that all staff members who are interacting with the aquatic facility be CPO Certified to lower risk and potential liability. It may also be required by your insurance provider or your corporate policy.
